Julia Bossmann is an accomplished AI professional, researcher, and thought leader with a strong commitment to responsible AI development and governance. With a cross-disciplinary background spanning neuroscience, psychology, and artificial intelligence, she has made significant contributions to the field of AI ethics and has been at the forefront of discussions on the societal implications of AI. Currently, Bossmann is engaged in AI governance integration and alignment research at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, where she focuses on integrating AI ethics and alignment into lab research and partnerships. She contributes to interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of AI, neuroscience, psychology, complex systems, and ethics, with a particular emphasis on foundation models and their implications. Before her current role, Bossmann provided AI governance consulting at Mila, leading consultations on generative AI risks and mitigation strategies, fostering dialogue among the scientific community, and developing recommendations on the institute's role in AI governance. Bossmann serves as the Director of AI and an Advisory Board Member at Rights Intelligence and the Human Rights Measurement Initiative, where she advises on the design and delivery of human rights initiatives involving AI.
